Pied Wagtail

These little birds with their frenzied flying around while wagging their long tails are just so entertaining, I tried to capture a bit of that madness in this painting.
 
This painting started as a pure watercolour painting. I then started experimenting adding some collage elements, and sealing them with watercolour ground. Once dried another considered layer of watercolour and gouache was applied selectively to help incorporate the letters into the picture.
 
The artwork is presented in a bespoke black wooden frame and includes off-white acid free mount. This item contains glazing, hence suitable for posting within the UK only. If you would like to purchase the painting unframed, please get in touch for more information.
