Spring posy in blue vase
Dimension of image 27cmx27cm
Original watercolour painting
Materials used - Daniel Smith watercolour paints and 300gsm Saunders Waterford watercolour paper
The flower posy in this painting consisted of primroses that sprung out uninvited in a neglected part of the garden, shy hellebore and muscari that usually gets such bad press! Arranged together in a blue vase from the thrift store, it summarised Spring for me - full of hope. The chair and the polka dot table cloth hints at the interior into which these little gems of nature were made to feel very welcome.
I tried to alternate between loose and defined in my depiction of the flowers.
Presented in a white frame and includes an off-white, acid free mount.
